113 - A Saturday Snooze

This weekend Cherries travelled to Nottingham to face Forest in a clash against an in-form Hughton side that has been difficult to beat of late - amassing 13 points from their last 18. So with Boscombe arriving in confidence after our Burnley FA Cup exploits, it looked set to be an absorbing affair - in reality, it was anything but. In this podcast, we get raw full-time opinions from Bournemouth fans after the Cherries bumbled to a 0-0 draw at the hands of Forest - scarily, we didn't even register a shot! Also, Tom Jordan is joined by Dan AKA Juron to discuss the individual performances at The City Ground. Ben Pearson made his debut for the Cherries in a midfield comprising Jack Wilshere and Jefferson Lerma - this meant that Tuesday's FA Cup star Philip Billing could only watch on from the bench. Meanwhile, another excellent former from the Burnley game - Sam Surridge - was also benched! Bizarre! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to all our platforms. 112 - Defensive Holes But Back In The Goals

What a season we're having. Jason Tindall departed the club in the week after a poor run of results for the Cherries. Whilst we had games that some Cherries fans could attend, the majority of us will be returning to a vastly different club - no Eddie, no Jason. It's sad we haven't had the chance to say goodbye to some incredible servants. Despite the risk not working, Jason is still one of them - thank you JT. So it was Jonathan Woodgate that stood in for our home clash against the Blues on the following Saturday. To his credit, he obviously needed to come in and pick up players who have been mentally at a low and players who haven’t had the confidence to express themselves on the football pitch for some time. Whilst the showing was far from perfect, it was one was saw us score goals. In this podcast Sam Davis, Jeff Hayward, Neil Dawson and Tom Jordan take you through the weekend game, before going on to analyse the runners and riders for the managerial vacancy at Dean Court - with a Tier List! Shaun Teale - The Lockdown Interviews

Shaun Teale is a player who many of us idolised for the two and a half seasons that he was with us. Moving from non-league, he made 62 appearances for the Cherries between 1989 and 1992 before joining Aston Villa for £350,000 where he formed an outstanding partnership with Irish international, Paul McGrath. He’s a player who’s been described as "the most centre-half looking centre-half who ever lived", with possibly the biggest calves that some Bournemouth fans have ever seen. Also a star for Southport, Weymouth, Tranmere, Preston, Motherwell, Carlisle amongst others - tonight he is joined by Jeff Hayward and Neil Dawson, who ask the questions about his fascinating career. Includes: ◽️ The Redknapp Run-Ins ◽️ Pinning managers again changing room doors ◽️ Why Big Ron prevented him playing for England ◽️ Villa experiences alongside Paul McGrath ◽️ His current career as a painter and decorator If you're enjoying this show and our other interviews you can help support us by buying us a coffee at http://www.afcbpodcast.com/coffee - we really appreciate it! ...

110 - Cherries Asunder After Referee Blunder

Bournemouth made hard work of the beautiful game against yet another team in the bottom half of the table on Saturday as Luton Town emerged 1-0 winners at Dean Court in a deserved victory where Cherries simply did not do enough. Despite sporadic moments of near-joy, Cherries look disjointed and asunder - a far cry from the Championship winning side of 6/7 years ago. If we're thinking promotion, we might need to think again. It wasn't just Bmth that weren’t at the races, the ref wasn’t either. A diabolical performance from the man in the middle. He drove down from the North East to officiate today - yet more pointless travel over a long distance during Covid, and... just like Dominic Cummings, maybe he needed an eye test too - as he sent off Lerma with one of the worst reds we have seen. Despite that, Cherres kept on trying to walk it into the box, and Luton were clinical when they needed to be. In this podcast, Sam Davis is joined by Jeff Hayward, Mr Tigz and  Tom Jordan to dissect the game, plus we hear a snippet of an extended interview which is on Youtube, and will be arriving on your podcast app next week! Matt Tubbs and Josh McQuoid - Lockdown Interviews

Bournemouth has always been a club that has been associated with fast free-flowing football, and as a result of that, we have witnessed plenty of incredible goals over the years from an array of strikers, and on this show - we have a couple of guests that have lots of experience of hitting the back of the net for both Bournemouth and their other respective clubs. They were both born in the South, are both 5 foot 9, and both have played for Cherries in the naughties and 2010’s… Firstly, Matt Tubbs... a player who netted 49 goals in 65 matches for Crawley Town - a ridiculous record! He had a loan spell at the Cherries in 2008 before completing a permanent switch in 2012, and his goals were a crucial part of AFC Bournemouth reaching the Championship! Plus, Josh McQuoid - a player that came through the youth at AFCB after a brief spell at Saints. He made 63 appearances for us, joined the Cherries first team set up in 2006 and his goal-scoring form got better as time went on. In November 2010, he scored a hat-trick for Bournemouth in consecutive home wins, something which evidently created a path for a move away to play Championship football where he joined Millwall! He returned in 2012, was alongside the likes of Franno, Ritchie, Grabban and Fraser up the leagues. An international for Northern Ireland too, he is currently plying his trade at Weymouth. We talk about their footballing experiences, loan moves, dealing with Jimmy Quinn, the Minus 17 era, the influences on and off the pitch (good and bad), the current side, being "rested" on the first ...
